New to this? Here's what these services are

Many people don't know either service exists until they're staring at a garage full of stuff. Here's the plain version.

What is a dumpster rental?

A company brings a large container to your home or job site. You fill it at your own pace, then the company hauls it away and handles the disposal. Ours are trailer dumpsters on wheels, towed by a pickup.

What is junk removal?

You hire a crew to do the work. They come to you, carry your unwanted items out, load them, and haul them away. You don't rent anything or lift anything.

Learn About Junk Removal

Dumpster rental or junk removal: which do you need?

The big difference is who does the loading.

Question Dumpster rental Junk removal
Who loads it? You Our crew
How long? 1 or 3 days Usually one visit
Price based on Size, days, weight Load, access, materials
Best for Remodels and cleanouts with time Heavy items, or no time to lift
Our prices $440 to $665 By truck load, up to $745

Is renting a dumpster cheaper than junk removal?

It depends on how much you have. For a small load, junk removal usually costs less: an eighth of a truck is $225, and our dumpsters start at $440. For a big cleanout you can load yourself, a dumpster can cost less because you're doing the labor.

Still not sure? Read our full dumpster rental vs. junk removal guide, or text us a photo and we'll tell you which makes more sense.

Dumpster sizes and rental rates

Some people call these roll-offs or dumpster bins. A "yard" is a cube of space 3 feet on each side, so a 10-yard, our smallest, holds about ten of those. Tap a size to compare it to a 6-foot person.

10 yard dumpster

  • 1 day $440
  • 3 days $465
  • Weight included 2,000 lbs
  • Size 10' × 6.5' × 4'
Quote a 10 Yard

15 yard dumpster

  • 1 day $490
  • 3 days $525
  • Weight included 2,000 lbs
  • Size 12' × 6.5' × 5'
Quote a 15 Yard

20 yard dumpster

  • 1 day $625
  • 3 days $665
  • Weight included 3,000 lbs
  • Size 14' × 6.5' × 6'
Quote a 20 Yard

Size and weight are different limits

Weight over the included amount is $7 per 100 lbs. For example, 2,400 lbs in a 10-yard dumpster is 400 lbs over, which adds $28.

Strength guided by care

Driveway Safe is owned and run by David Steven in Lake Balboa.

Hauling heavy loads takes strength. Doing it on someone's home takes care. Our logo holds both, and here's what it means on your job.

  • The hands: we protect what's yours

You're trusting us with your driveway and your property. We confirm placement with you first and treat your home with respect.

  • The roots: steady underneath

Clear rates, honest answers and doing what we said we'd do, even when a job gets difficult.

  • The shield: real equipment, real limits

Trailer dumpsters built for homes. If a spot won't work or a load is too heavy, we'll tell you before it becomes a problem.

  • The sunrise: room for what's next

A garage you can park in. A remodel that can move forward. A home that feels lighter. That's the reason for the work.

Dumpster rental and junk removal questions

Can I get a dumpster or junk removal today?

Yes, every day. Call us.

Can't I just take it to the dump myself?

You can, if you have a truck, the time and a strong back. Most people call us because the load is too big, too heavy, or would take several trips.

What can't go in a dumpster?

Hazardous waste, chemicals, oil, paint, batteries and tires. Ask first about heavy loads like dirt, concrete or brick.

What if my load goes over the weight?

Weight over the included amount is $7 per 100 lbs. We'll explain it before you book, so it isn't a surprise.

Do you recycle or donate items?

No. Please set aside anything you want to keep, donate or recycle before we arrive.

Do you offer after-hours event cleanup?

Yes, by arrangement, in a scheduled 9 PM to 8 AM window.
